Privacy Policy

Summary

Maya Pet is a local-first app. Your dog's health, care and daily records are stored only on your phone. We do not send any personal data to our servers or share it with third parties. Creating an account is not required.

1. Data We Collect

A. Locally Stored Data (Never Leaves Your Device)

  • Your dog's name, breed, birthdate, weight history, photo
  • Vaccinations, medications, meals, walks, symptoms and vet visit records
  • Notes, expenses, calendar events

This data is stored only inside the app's AsyncStorage and file system. It is not sent to any server.

B. Optional Account Data (Only if you sign up)

  • Email address. Used as your account identifier and for login. Linked to identity (per Apple's terminology).
  • Display name (optional). Shown on your profile.

You can use all features of the app without creating an account. Accounts are designed only for optional future features like cloud backup (1.0.2+).

C. Anonymous Analytics (Optional, not linked to identity)

  • Device identifier (Apple IDFV / Android ID). Used to understand active users and version distribution. Not linked to your identity (per Apple's terminology).
  • Event logs. Statistics like which screens are opened, how many dog profiles are created. No content (dog names, records) is sent.
  • Crash reports. If the app unexpectedly closes, the error message and device model are logged. No personal data is included.

You can turn this off inside the app (Settings → Analytics).

2. Who We Share Data With

No one. No data is shared with ad networks, analytics companies or third-party trackers. We do not sell, rent or trade your data.

Only exceptions:

  • Supabase. If you sign up, your email is stored on Supabase (Ireland, EU) infrastructure. GDPR compliant.
  • Resend. Email delivery infrastructure (signed with DKIM/SPF/DMARC, EU servers).
  • Legal obligation. Data may be shared with authorities under court order or legal obligation.

3. Data Location

  • Local data: On your own device
  • Account data (optional): Supabase eu-west-1 (Ireland, EU)
  • Email infrastructure: Resend eu-west-1 (Ireland, EU)

4. Your Rights (KVKK & GDPR)

  • Request access to your data
  • Fully delete your account. From the app: Profile → MY ACCOUNT → Delete My Account. This action cannot be undone; your account and all data on our servers will be permanently deleted.
  • Request deletion of email data
  • Turn off analytics data
  • Request your data in a portable format

5. Children's Privacy

Maya Pet is not intended for users under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13.

6. Notifications

Vaccination, medication and walk notifications are generated only on your device. Their content is not sent to our servers. You can turn off notifications anytime from your system settings.

7. Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. For significant changes, we will notify you within the app. Older versions are available on request.
